Toxicity: Non-toxic (flowers toxic to animals)

Maintenance: Medium. Best grown in full sun/part shade. Prune anytime to remove dead or damage pieces, but do not shear like a grass. Thrives with little care. Drought tolerant.

Freeze Tolerance: Cold hardy – Survives most freezes without protection. Give the roots a good soak prior to a freeze event. This dude has made it through 2021/2022 events fairly unscathed.

Interest: Red flower spikes, hummingbird favorite, not a yucca.

Maintenance:  Low – Best grown in part sun/part shade. Prune anytime to remove dead or damage pieces, but do not shear like a grass. Trim old foliage in spring to refresh appearance.

Freeze Tolerance: Cold hardy – Some leaf drop may occur but will regrow. Give the roots a good soak prior to a freeze event.

*This is a good, soft evergreen and will flower in the sun.

Interest: Evergreen grass, purple flower spikes
